We are thrilled to announce that the AURORA project, a pioneering initiative in carbon capture and utilization, has been added to CEMBUREAU’s prestigious Map of Innovation Projects as of March 2024. This recognition underscores the significant strides AURORA is making in the field of industrial decarbonization.
AURORA, funded under the European Union’s HORIZON-CL5-2022-D3-01 call, specifically targets the decarbonization of industry through cutting-edge CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technologies. The project’s inclusion on the CEMBUREAU map highlights its innovative approach and impactful contributions to reducing carbon emissions in the cement industry and beyond.
A key factor in this achievement is the involvement of HERACLES, a prominent cement manufacturer and a vital member of the AURORA consortium. HERACLES brings extensive industry expertise and a commitment to sustainability, playing a crucial role in advancing AURORA’s goals and driving the project forward.
CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association, is dedicated to promoting sustainable construction practices and innovative solutions within the cement industry. Their Map of Innovation Projects showcases the most promising and forward-thinking initiatives in the sector, and AURORA’s inclusion is a testament to its potential to make a lasting impact on industrial decarbonization.
