Testing Carbon Capture Solutions
SUSTAINABLE CCUS SOLUTIONS FOR THE INDUSTRY
Crafting sustainable solutions for a cleaner future. Join us in revolutionising the way industries capture CO2 emissions. Together, we can make a real difference.
AURORA gathers end-users in three CO2 -intensive industries: refining, cement and materials recycling, for which there are few other options for achieving climate neutrality.

Motor Oil (Hellas) - Refinery
MOH owns a refinery near Corinth, processing 185,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is surrounded by a cluster of 3 other energy intensive industries (petroleum refineries and cement plant)which produces more than 7 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
HERACLES – Volos Plant, Greece

HERACLES - cement plant
The HERACLES G.C.C. plant in Volos (Greece) is the largest cement production unit of HERACLES Group with cement production capacity around 2,4 Mt, with a privately owned port. Different transport and storation options of the captured CO2 will be considred in AURORA.

TotalEnergies - oil refinery
The Antwerp refining and petrochemicals platform is situated in Antwerp’s port area in the ARA hub serving Europe’s oil markets. The site comprises Europe’s third-largest refinery with a capacity of 338,000 barrels of oil per day, a petrochemical complex and a polymer plant that produces high-density polyethylene.
